Absurd Digital Futures Workshop
The "Absurd Digital Futures Workshop" is a series of creative workshops to imagine what ridiculous possibilities for possible features could look like.
What
The workshop centres around the Holographic Fence principle and is an ideation workshop on how to create new designs of existing things with one simple catch: You have to play the villain. The idea is to create the most evil, unnecessary, inaccessible, or useless update of a product that there can be and have fun with it. The focus lies on four simple needs:
- What product is it?
- How does the design change?
- Who is the customer base?
- Who could possibly invest in such a product, tool, or service?
Why
The workshop is focused on teaching people new and fun ways of implementing interesting ways of storytelling in their projects.
Further this workshop can help establish ones own principles by reflecting on the simple question of "How far am I willing to go?"
And lastly, it is to have fun with speculative design!

This workshop is made for any UX Designer, Game Designer, UI Designers, and Design students interested in reflecting about the interactions they create for other humans through digital means.
